Originally from the Sunshine Coast, QLD and now calling Tasmania home, Matt is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Luta Livre purple belt and group fitness instructor with a background in university teaching, community development and mental health advocacy. With nearly 20 years of experience training, competing and coaching BJJ and MMA, Matt has a developed a positive, progressive and inclusive coaching style to cater to people of all experience levels.

Coach Sam brings a wealth of experience to our team at Bushido Flow, mixing a diverse yet old-school pressure based gi game with modern wrestling and leg lock attacks in no gi. Sam’s ability to mix these approaches together and pass these concepts on to students in an easy to understand manner is a huge asset to the gym.
